Into the Unknown
In a universe on the verge of collapse, the crew of the Argo-147—captain Cooper, pilot Polly, and navigator droid B-52—are everyone’s last hope. Together they must stop a phenomenon known as "The Loop", a cycle of universal destruction ... and rebirth.
prologue
After a long journey through hyperlight, the crew awakens to find the Ultima Nebula, once a guiding star, completely gone. In its place: The Source. A mysterious force consuming everything in its path.
Acting on coordinates from The Alliance, a fractured coalition trying to save what’s left, the crew enters a dying sector of the galaxy. Amid the wreckage of ruined planets and collapsing stars, they discover something impossible: a frozen sun, and orbiting it, a temple built in the void.
While Polly defends the ship against enemy forces, Cooper and B-52 infiltrate the temple, only to face ancient automatons and Malkram, a Despian zealot bent on triggering a cosmic reset known only as the Loop.
The countdown has begun.

story elements
The Loop: a multiversal phenomenon that consists of the universe growing to a certain point, collapsing in on itself, and being reborn again.
The Despians: a highly-evolved race which seems to be behind the Loop. They are practically immortal, no one knows how long they’ve lived and controlled the universe from the shadows. Only one thing about the Despians is certain: they will do anything to maintain their power over life, death, the universe, and the Loop.
The Alliance: a collective of planets and species that have discovered the existence of the Loop and fight the Despians in an attempt to preserve their universe, UN-01.
Quantum Organicity: a phenomenon in which elements of a collapsed universe are replicated in the new universe, such as a specific life-form or planet. It states that everything which existed in the previous universe must exist in the new one, though in slightly different or evolved way.

DINGO

A lone wolf explorer who shoots first and asks questions never. He was raised as a miner kid but he escaped that life in a stolen space-junker and became an adventurer, scavenging a life of freedom for himself across the stars.

Pando

Pando is Kaya's companion and loyal guardian. Though he looks similar to a panda bear, he has no relation to those animals. Because of his connection to Kaya he is entangled in the mystery of the Loop. In Pando’s mind, his job is simple: protect Kaya. Saving the universe is her destiny.

polly
Full name: Pauline Hellen Jorden Age: 24
Race: Human female Affiliation: The Alliance
The cheery pilot of the Argo-147. She’s an expert mechanic and the creator of B-52, but she leaves a mess wherever she goes—especially when she gets to use her bubble gum bombs. Polly will do whatever it takes to save the galaxy and stop the Loop.

Cooper
Full name: Copernicus Whitlock Age: 35
Race: Human Male Affiliation: none
Captain of the Argo-147, he is an astrophysicist freedom fighter who served the Alliance to stop the Loop in UN-01. He is the last survivor of his universe and brings the scars of his loss with him across the jump to UN-02.

Kaya
Full name: Unknown Age: 12
Race: Human female Affiliation: The Alliance
An orphan girl from planet Carpa III, born with unexplainable memories and knowledge of UN-01 and the Loop. Kaya’s planet was destroyed by the Despians, but she managed to escape—the only survivor and the key to stopping the Loop once and for all.

B-52
Full name: Bot-52 Age: 7
Race: Droid Affiliation: The Alliance
He is the Argo-147’s faithful navigation droid and co-pilot. His algorithmic course-plotting system is crucial to the success of any mission, as is his advanced humor system. B-52’s consciousness and data memory are one of the few constants between UN-01 and UN-02.

Full name: c Age: 1.2 years
Race: Gallus Domesticus Affiliation: none
C is an ordinary chicken (apparently) who has been trapped on the Argo and roams its halls. Although he seems to have strange, mysterious qualities at times, he has been adopted as the group's mascot despite Dingo's complaints. The story of how he came to be on the ship is somewhat confusing and involves a mass evacuation of chickens from Gliese581g.

Malkram
Full name: Kyeler Malkram-Broggs
Age: 7.5 billion years
Race: Despian male Affiliation: Despians
Crown Prince of the Despians, Malkram is what most people might call "evil". He believes in The Loop and will do whatever it takes to see it through. His adventures forged him into a great warrior. But even he can admire the beauty to be found between the stars, and it has been whispered this Despian has a fondness for adopting space worms as pets.

Aerora
Full name: Kasra Aerora-Broggs
Age: 8.2 billion years
Race: despian female Affiliation: despian
She has a certain ambiguity if the loop is correct for the universe or not, which is really a big problem when you are Malkrams sister and a general of the Despian army.
